The Dynafit Blacklight Pro Ski is a great touring ski for ski mountaineers, fitness tours, and weight-conscious backcountry skiers. At only 910 grams in an 80mm underfoot package, this ski is made to go uphill in a hurry. The Blacklight Pro is built around the Dynafit Paulownia Race Core. The paulownia wood is reinforced with unidirectional (UD) carbon fibers- which provide high tensile strength and reduced density compared to traditional carbon fiber. The 3D construction of the Pro reduces the weight of the ski through the tail and tip, which reduces the overall weight of the ski while also reducing the swing weight and creating a ski that is nimble while still maintaining stability.
The rocker and sidecut profile of the Pro is uniquely crafted for each length of ski- a unique feature in the ski touring market. This means that the effective edge of each ski is equally proportional and functions independently of size. This translates to a ski that is consistent across sizes and optimized for uncompromising performance regardless of ski length. To maximize performance and ensure an inspiring and confident feel, the Blacklight Pro has a full ABS sidewall which is durable and has excellent power transfer.
The Blacklight Pro is further set apart from its competition by its unique skin attachment options. On top of the normal Dynafit Speed Skin attachments, which are one of our favorite skin attachments on the market, the Blacklight also has the new PIN-SKIN attachment. Rather than being attached to the tail, with the PIN-SKIN, the skin is attached to a small pin that attaches to a corresponding insert directly into the ski. This system saves time when transitioning while also reducing unnecessary weight.
